Privacy Policy

How CMICe collects, uses and looks after your personal data.

01Scope of this policy

This policy explains how the Chula Medical Innovation Center and Entrepreneurship (CMICe), Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University ("we"), collects, uses and discloses the personal data of people who use this website, in line with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) and Chulalongkorn University’s personal data protection guidelines.

This policy applies only to the CMICe website. It does not cover external websites linked from this site, which have their own privacy policies.

02Terms used in this policy

  • Personal data means information that identifies a person, directly or indirectly, such as a name, email address or phone number.
  • Data subject means the person the personal data is about; in this policy, "you".
  • Processing means anything done with data, such as collecting, recording, using, disclosing or deleting it.

03Data we collect

We collect only the information you choose to enter and send us through the website’s forms:

  • Contact form: your name, email, phone number, LINE ID (if given), organisation, enquiry type and message.
  • Start with CMICe form: your starting point and the help you need, project details (such as project name, problem, proposed solution and stage), name, organisation, role, email, phone number and LINE ID (if given).

Information sent through the forms is stored in Google Sheets in CMICe’s Google account, which only the relevant staff can access, and the system emails staff when new information arrives.

Please avoid sending sensitive information, such as patients’ health data or medical history, through these forms.

04Purposes and legal basis

We use your information to:

  • get back to you and answer your questions or requests;
  • consider and advise on the ideas, research or innovations you propose;
  • coordinate any collaboration related to your request.

We process your information on the basis of the consent you give when you send a form, and our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry. We do not use your information for marketing and we never sell personal data to anyone.

In some cases the law allows processing without consent, for example to comply with the law or to prevent danger to a person’s life, body or health.

05Disclosure

We may disclose your information, only as far as needed for the purposes above, to:

  • staff and units within the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University involved in your request;
  • service providers that help run the website and communications, such as hosting and email providers;
  • Google (Google Sheets and Gmail), which we use to store form submissions and send notification emails. The data may be stored on the provider’s servers outside Thailand;
  • partners, experts or co-developers, only with your prior consent;
  • government authorities, where required by law.

06Transfers outside Thailand

This website uses cloud services whose providers may store data on servers outside Thailand, such as our website hosting provider and Google, which stores form submissions. We choose providers with appropriate data protection measures and follow the legal requirements for sending or transferring personal data abroad.

07Cookies, external services and other websites

This website does not use cookies to track or analyse visitor behaviour. However, some pages include external services that may set their own cookies:

  • Google Maps on the contact page, which is covered by Google’s privacy policy;
  • Our hosting provider, which may log technical information such as IP address and browser type for security and to deliver the website;
  • Anonymous visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics), which use no cookies and collect no personally identifying information. We use the totals, such as the number of visits and the most visited pages, to improve the website.

Links to other websites or services, such as LINE and maps, are covered by those providers’ privacy policies. Please read each one before sharing information.

08Retention, accuracy and security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes stated, and for any period required by law or university regulations. When it is no longer needed, or when you withdraw consent, we delete it or make it no longer identifiable.

We try to keep information accurate and up to date. If your details change, you can ask us to correct them at any time.

We limit access to the people who need it and use appropriate measures to prevent unauthorised access, use or disclosure.

09Your rights

Under personal data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access your information and receive a copy;
  • have your information corrected and kept up to date;
  • have your information deleted, destroyed or its use restricted;
  • object to the processing of your information;
  • have your information transferred, where the law provides;

  • complain to the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee if you believe your information has been misused.

There is no charge for exercising these rights. We will consider your request and reply within 30 days of receiving it, unless the law provides otherwise.
